This Month with the PTA

7Wed · Oct Spirit Night — Raising Cane's4:00–8:00 PM · Wheat Ridge ›

Skip cooking on a Wednesday and let Raising Cane's handle dinner. A portion of what our Firebird families spend comes back to Fairmount — so tell them you're with Fairmount when you order. Dine in, carry out, or drive through.

12Mon · Oct Fall Break — No SchoolMonday Oct 12 & Tuesday Oct 13 ›

No school for students on either day — plan ahead for childcare.

21Wed · Oct Fit Fun Club — Martial Arts2:45–3:45 PM · right after school ›

This month's Fit Fun Club is run by Personal Achievement Martial Arts, one of our Platinum sponsors. An hour of moving, learning something new, and burning off the afternoon — no experience needed.

22Thu · Oct Spirit Night — Bliss Frozen Yogurt12:00–9:00 PM · Arvada ›

All afternoon and into the evening — a nine-hour window, so there's no excuse about timing. Bliss sends a share of the day's Fairmount sales back to us. Mention Fairmount at the register.

27Tue · Oct PTA Volunteer Orientation5:30–7:00 PM · at Fairmount ›

Thinking about helping but not sure where you'd fit? Come find out. We'll walk through what the PTA actually does, the roles that need people, and how much time each one really takes.

No commitment required — come listen, ask questions, and decide later.

30Fri · Oct Halloween Parade & PartiesMorning — time to be announced ›

The parade is in the morning, with classroom parties to follow. Exact timing is still being set — watch The Firebird Flyer for it.

📅 Every date — school and PTA — is in Upcoming Events in the sidebar, and you can subscribe to it from there.

Where your money goes

👋 Proudly serving our Firebirds in Golden, Colorado. We're your all-volunteer PTA — a 501(c)(3) partnering with families, teachers and staff to make every child's potential a reality.

Here's how this year's budget breaks down.

In the classroom39%

Grade-level support, field trips, classroom parties, books

School-wide projects32%

Building and playground improvements, scholarship, angel fund

Thanking teachers & staff14%

Staff appreciation, meals, spirit shirts

Events for families10%

Back to School Bash, Field Day, Talent Show, 5th grade send-off

Keeping the PTA running5%

Administration, insurance, and our state and national PTA dues

Wondering why we ask you to join and to give? Your $22 membership doesn't buy the field trip. It buys the organization that makes the field trip possible — the legal standing, the insurance, the volunteers, the vote. Then the other 95% of our budget pays for the trip.

Every family makes Fairmount stronger — whether you join, give, or lend an hour. It all lands on our kids. Every Child. One Voice. Go Firebirds! 🔥
