For more than 50 years, Fairmount families have brought holiday gifts to the residents of a local senior living community. You may know it as Mountain Vista — it's been renamed Grandview, but it's the same place and the same tradition.

Choose a wish, bring the gift to school, and our volunteers take care of the delivery. See the wishes and sign up »

Every family makes Fairmount stronger — whether you join, give, or lend an hour. It all lands on our kids. Every Child. One Voice. Go Firebirds! 🔥

Some sponsors and families paid for this school year before July 1, when our fiscal year starts. That money is counted in last year's books, so this year's sponsorship and membership totals in our reports look lower than what has actually come in for 2026–27. Goals come from our approved budget and aren't guarantees.

Why We Ask
Why we fundraise, and three ways to help
Every item on this page is paid for by the PTA, on top of what the school and district provide. That's why we fundraise. There are three ways families help, and each one does a different job.
🪪 Membership dues
$22 per family · $11 per adult. Dues keep the PTA itself running. About three-quarters of every dues payment goes right back out to Colorado PTA and National PTA, which give us our nonprofit standing and a voice in advocacy for all kids. So far this year: $2,765 in dues.

The casino night, read-a-thon, Fit Fest, business sponsors, and everyday kickbacks. These fund the bigger things: specials, field trips, safety and playground projects, scholarships, and teacher appreciation. Every one is optional.

Good Questions
What families ask us most
If I give to Fund Fairmount First, do I still get asked for other things?
Fund Fairmount First replaces the small, recurring classroom and staff asks, so those won't come home anymore. Our bigger fundraisers like the casino night and read-a-thon still happen, and they're always optional. Fund Fairmount First doesn't cover school or district fees, extra field trip costs, club or enrichment fees, or curriculum projects like Mini Mall and Mini Society. If we don't reach our goal, we'll go back to asking the old way for what's left.
Does the PTA pay for field trips?
Yes. The PTA budget covers the base cost of field trips ($7,515 this year). If a trip has extra costs beyond that, those come to families.
Is my donation set aside for something specific?
Everything we raise goes into one approved budget that serves every student. If you give through our public donation page, you're welcome to note a preference, and we'll make a good-faith effort to honor it.
Why do some fundraisers cost money to run?
Events like Fit Fest and casino night have real costs, like venues, supplies and prizes. That's why each fundraiser above shows its goal after costs, and we report what it actually spent and netted every quarter.
Who decides how the money is spent?
PTA members do. The budget is presented and voted on by members at our general meeting, which is one of the best reasons to join. Every member gets a vote. Our next general meeting is Wednesday, November 18, 5:30–6:30 p.m. See all PTA meetings »
Have a Voice
Have a question, an idea, or a concern? We want to hear it.
The best way to shape how our PTA raises and spends money is to be part of it. Come to a general meeting, join the board, or lend a hand. Every family is welcome at the table.
Next general meeting: Wednesday, November 18, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
